Our toddler room caters for 15 children aged from 2-3 years. We have an indoor and outdoor space for learning. This group has their own garden to play, explore and learn with shady trees and a large sandpit for sensory play.

In our Toddler Program we aim to provide a comfortable and safe environment that promotes each child’s growth and development with a focus on their individual interests and learning.

Since toddlers learn primarily through sensory exploration, our role as teachers is to prepare a wide variety of interest areas and activities that stimulate their emerging physical, cognitive and social skills. Everyday each child will have opportunities to exercise their muscles, large and small; to explore art and sensory materials; to engage in dramatic play; to practise problem solving skills; to sing and dance to music.

Our progressive daily routines also provide numerous opportunities for learning. As toddlers learn to manage their spoon/fork at lunch time, put on their own shoes and hats for outdoor play, pull down their training pants to use the toilet and put the toys on the self at clean-up time, they are acquiring very important self-help skills during this transitional stage of development.

We encourage the children to orchestrate their own learning through providing stimulating activities and environments as well as scaffolding their day care experiences based on their interests and their unique cultural characteristics.
